Two Month Appointment

Today was Keira's two month appointment.

She is still very tall (and silly!)
Height = 24" (97%)
Weight = 11lb, 7oz (53%)
Head Circumference = 15.75" (92%)

She was given several shots and we used a new thing, a Buzzy (http://buzzy4shots.com)- it didn't totally get rid of the crying but it was much less than last time!

We got a whole new handout on what to expect during months 2-4:

We love her more everyday!

I can't get enough of this baby face!

8 Weeks Postpartum

It's been 8 weeks since delivery day and I'm feeling better every day.

 I still have 9-10 pounds to lose but I'm not freaking out about it, I've started switching out a few of my diet items for healthier options with hopes to get back into all my normal clothes when I go back to work.

Breastfeeding Essentials

Breastfeeding isn't the eaisest thing in the world but there are lots of great products out there that make it much easier so you can have a more enjoyable experience while feeding your little one, and it can be such a wonderful experience so please take advantage of these so that you can enjoy the bonding time!

Here are my personal favorites:

8 Weeks Old

Keira is just 8 weeks and has changed so much recently! In the past week or two she has had much more awake periods and more interactive during those times- smiling, cooing, and a sort of giggling. Until now we hadn't really "played" with her but we got out some toys and her jungle playmat passed down from her Aunt Jen. I wasn't sure if she would be interested but she smiled at the giraffe on the side and coos at the twirling butterflies overhead.

Newborn Visits

I saw this on another website and thought it was really well written. This is not meant to offend anyone, I honestly broke some/alot of these rules (not knowing that they existing) before we had Keira - just like the author. File this away for future reference!

The Etiquette of Visiting Parents With Newborns

There are few things in life more heartwarming than meeting a newborn baby for the first time, especially if that baby is the son or daughter of a dear friend. But for the parents who have just had a baby, there are also few things that are more stressful and exhausting. The new mom or dad have probably not had more than three consecutive hours of sleep. The mom's nipples are probably sore and bleeding. And neither have had time to eat a real meal. This post is dedicated to the etiquette of visiting new parents. I hope it doesn't offend anyone. It shouldn't. I definitely violated these rules before I had a baby. This is meant to simply help friends understand the needs of a new parent.
